Project Managers variable on projects

Administrators, Lead Project Managers, and Project Managers can specify users or groups which can act as designated project managers over a project. The designated project managers have visibility over the project and can be assigned workflow tasks.

Sometimes, you may want some tasks to be assigned to the person or persons designated as project managers over a specific project. However, if you do not know who these persons are from the get go, you are forced to postpone the assignments until you know who to assign them to.

Moreover, you may want to assign not one, but more project tasks to the project manager, which means that you need to manually select every task and perform the assignments. The Project Managers field, which is a variable, was created to help you speed things up, namely:
  • To specify the values of the Project Managers field once
  • To assign tasks to the Project Managers field once
  • To have tasks automatically assigned to the designated project managers, per project, automatically

The Project Managers field can be set at project template and project level in order to have tasks easily assigned to this user. The value of the Project Managers field can be specified during project template creation, during project creation, and can be changed while the project is in progress.
