Refreshing workflow templates

Refresh the workflow template to benefit from the latest updates in terms of tasks, configurations, and transitions (outcomes).

Where can workflow templates be refreshed from?

You can refresh a workflow template from several places:
  • Workflows tab > open workflow > Refresh icon
  • Project templates tab > open project template > Workflows page > Refresh icon
  • Projects view > open project > Workflows page > Refresh icon

When should default workflow templates be refreshed?

Let us think of several scenarios.

Scenario 1: Workflow without a refreshed workflow template
  1. You have an existing workflow, but do not want to update its underlying workflow template to the latest version.
  2. You just want to change things like: exclude/include tasks, edit task configurations, change assignments.
  3. You can make all the changes you need (exclude/include tasks, edit task configurations, change assignments) without refreshing the workflow template. Your workflow will not be updated with the latest tasks and options present in the workflow template you use. You can save your workflow.
Scenario 2: Workflow with a refreshed workflow template
  1. You have an existing workflow, and want to update its underlying workflow template to the latest version.
  2. You want to change things like: exclude/include tasks, edit task configurations, change assignments.
  3. You can make all the changes you need (exclude/include tasks, edit task configurations, change assignments). After you refresh the workflow template, your workflow will be updated with the latest tasks and options present in the workflow template you use. You can save your workflow.
