Resources
Resources refer to all the elements a localization project needs in order to be complete. This topic lists the resources that project managers can configure.
What is this section about?
- Linguistic resources - You use linguistic resources to leverage previously localized content. Therefore, you must configure your linguistic resources before project creation. Linguistic resources include translation memories, terminology, Machine Translation subscriptions.
- Workflows - Your localization project goes through a sequences of stages (consisting of tasks). Therefore, you must configure the steps and the step assignees before project creation.
- File Types - You must ensure that the content you localize is in a file format which can be read and interpreted by the system. Therefore, you must check your file type list and their settings before project creation.
- Custom Fields - You can tag your projects based on your own criteria. Therefore, you must configure these criteria before project creation.
- Project Templates - You aim at saving time and reusing resources when creating new projects. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you create project templates per customer. A project template is an artefact which brings together all the elements you need to create a project: language pairs, customer (folder or location), users and assignments, workflow, linguistic resources, settings. If you create a localization project based on a project template, then you just need to add the files that need to be localized and you are ready to go.
