Searching for termbase entries

Retrieve termbase entries faster and more accurately by searching for them.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Trados Team (by accessing this link: http://languagecloud.sdl.com/lc).
  2. Go to the Resources view and select Linguistic Resources > Termbases OR select the Terminology view from the main menu, and then select Termbases.
  3. Click inside a termbase row to open the termbase.
  4. Expand the search menu (search menu button) and select a search type:
    • Normal search — Searches for the exact string or text you enter. The perfect match is returned first.
    • Linguistic fuzzy search — Searches for text or terms which are similar to or a sub-part of the search term. For example, if you enter a derived word, linguistic fuzzy search retrieves all the terms based on that word's stem (or root). The perfect or the nearest match is returned first.
    • Character-based fuzzy search — Searches text or terms which are similar to or a sub-part of the search term, but is more fault-tolerant than linguistic fuzzy search. The perfect match or the nearest match is returned first.
  5. Enter the text you want to search for.

Results

Trados Team automatically searches for the text string you entered and shows the available results.
