Annotation workflow statuses
During its lifetime, an annotation (that is, a comment or suggestion) can have one of several workflow statuses.
| Annotation workflow status | Status type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Unshared | Draft status | Upon creation, an annotation has the Unshared status, as well as an annotation type. At this point, the only users who can see, or interact with, the annotation are the creator of the annotation and an administrator-level user. Those users can edit, delete, reply to, or share the annotation, but they cannot resolve it. |
| Shared | Draft status | After its creator, or an administrator, shares the annotation, it has the Shared status. Now, all users can see and reply to, or resolve, the annotation. The annotation creator and administrator can still edit or delete the annotation. |
| Resolved | Released status | After a user has resolved the annotation, it has the Resolved status, as well as the reason of its resolution. It can now no longer be edited, deleted or replied to (except by administrators). Only administrators can change this workflow status back to Shared. |
Note that in order to be able to delete an annotation, all of its replies must first have been deleted.
