Collective Spaces changes (15.0.0)

This release includes several changes to Collective Spaces, that is, Draft Space and Review Space.

General improvements to Collective Spaces

Collective Spaces is now even more user friendly because of the following UX and feature improvements:
Improved layout
The outline (table of contents) has been moved out of the sidebar and added to the left side of the screen. Users can collapse and expand the outline to adjust the screen area as they like. Intuitive badge icons have been added to the outline to make it easier for users to identify the topics that need attention, and they can go to a specific item directly by clicking on its icon. Moreover, these icons can be customized for any statuses. There are more icons available to choose from at the Fontawesome library.
Annotations in balloons
Annotations have been created as bubbles/balloons right next to the selected text, making it easier to browse through them.
Save and Share
There is a new Save and Share button available, which allows you to instantly create and share the annotation in a single step.
Comment filtering: resolved and unresolved
When filtering comments, users no longer have to choose for either resolved or unresolved comments. Instead, they can filter on both, and refine the resolved comments filter further.
Unseen annotation due to conditioned-out content
If content has been annotated, but has also been made conditional with a condition that evaluates to "false", Collective Spaces alerts you the existence of this annotation.
Reason field for Suggestions can be optional
Previously, when creating a suggestion in either Draft Space or Review Space, the Reason field was always required. The field remains required as the default, but you can also configure it to be optional using the new annotationsuggestionreason element in the Admin.XMLCollectiveSpacesConfiguration.xml file.
Improved handling of mixed content
Mixed content (XML elements that contain text and other child elements) is handled much better while editing and rendering content, making it a better experience when working with complex content structures.
Feature toggles
There are new feature toggle options available in Organize Space to individually enable or disable the Draft Space and Review Space applications. There are also separate feature toggles for each application's Document History feature.
Authentication through Access Management
Like the Client Tools, Collective Spaces also follows the new authentication protocols and Access Management rules. There are new feature toggle options available in Organize Space to enable or disable Draft and Review Spaces and the Document History feature.
Clear marking of reused content
Whenever Draft Space or Review Space displays reused content (conrefs), a box is drawn around that content, with the recycling icon in the top right corner.

Draft Space improvements

The following improvements are specifically for Draft Space:

  • Users can now select multiple cells of a table and perform group operations like merge, change font, clear, etc.
  • Users can now access and edit the attributes of a colspec element of a table
  • Users can now upload a new revision of an image even for released topics, along with an option to refresh to update the current image
  • A new menu enables users to easily insert elements into a Reference topic type
  • The Version property is now shown by default when you open the Properties pane, without having to select Show optional fields first. (Note that you can customize Draft Space to make any property appear in the Properties pane by default, by making that property mandatory.)
  • The ability to use the Tab key in a code block to insert a tab character, rather than move to a different field in the user interface

Review Space improvements

The following improvements are specific to Review Space:

  • Better handling of tables, specifically the ability to expand tables for a better view, even in topics that are released
  • A new attributes panel for Review Space, which reviewers can enable if they need to access to technical information related to elements
  • The ability to enable a custom sidebar for additional functionality where required
