Browsing local storage

Your local storage contains topics, maps, or libraries that you previously checked out or viewed. You can view a list of files that are saved in local storage along with some of the files' metadata such as status, last modified, version, language, and so on.

About this task

You can see the contents of your local storage from your XML authoring application.

Alternatively, you can also go directly to the folder location of your local storage files on your computer, if you have a pressing reason to do so. The local storage files are under the My Documents\ or Documents\ folder, in the subfolder RWS\InfoShare\IDENTIFIER\USERNAME, where IDENTIFIER is a numerical value identifying the repository from which the objects were retrieved, and USERNAME is the username you used to access the account associated with that repository.

Procedure

  1. From your XML authoring application, select Tridion Docs > Open local storage.
A Local storage dialog opens, showing a list of the items in your local storage. Files that were checked in or were only viewed have a read-only status; files that were checked out and have not yet been checked in have a read-write status.
  2. To sort by title, version, language, mode or date modified, select the appropriate column header in the table.
