Cancelling a translation job

You can cancel a translation job after you have sent it to translation. When cancelling the job, Translation Organizer also cancels all the projects already created for the job on the external translation management system, and updates the returning object's status. Once cancelled, you cannot resubmit the job for translation; you have to create a new job.

Before you begin

To perform this task, the following must be true:
  • You must have administrator-level credentials or translation management credentials.
  • The job must not be in the Completed status. A Completed status indicates that translation has been done and the job has been re-imported into Content Manager.

Procedure

  1. In Organize Space, go to Content > Translation Jobs.
  2. From the list of jobs and their statuses that appears, select the Translation Job you want to cancel.
  3. Select Cancel from the button toolbar.

Results

After you have instructed Content Manager to cancel the Translation Job, the following happens:
  • A notification is displayed.
  • The job is not cancelled immediately; rather, it is scheduled for cancellation.
  • The status of the job is changed to Cancelled.
  • The status of all objects in the job (topics, maps and so on) is reverted to To be translated.
  • By default, 90 days after cancellation, the Translation Job is automatically deleted. The 90 days is a default value that can be changed by modifying the completedJobLifeSpan parameter in the Translation Builder configuration file.
