Checking in an object saves the data in the Repository. Checking in data ensures that the Repository contains the most up-to-date version of the object.
About this task
You can check in objects located in your local storage directory, that you have checked out.
Procedure
- From your XML authoring tool, select .
The Check in dialog appears.
- To edit the Workflow information (optional: when the object is ready for the next task or status):
- Check the Change status checkbox.
- In the Status field, select the appropriate status.
- To check in the object, do one of the following:
- To check in the object and remove the lock in the Repository, select OK.
- To write the recent modifications into the Repository but keep the object checked out, check the Keep checked out checkbox then select OK.
The data is updated in the Repository and remains open for additional edits in Authoring Bridge. You can use this option, for example, when modifying a topic that contains data to be referenced. Add or change the data, then check in your changes, so you and others can reference the new data while you continue to work, modifying the topic.
