Client Tools changes (15.1.0)
This release includes several improvements to the desktop client tools.
Across client tools
- Sign in and sign out
-
Users can now sign out from all desktop clients and sign in again, including as another user.
The options to sign in and out are available from the Accounts window. The following options are available both on the toolbar and on the right-click menu of a selected account:
- The Sign in action signs the user in to the selected account and across all user interfaces.
- The Sign out action signs the user out from the selected account on the current user interface. They will remain signed in to the account in other user interfaces.
- Improved "Where used" user experience
-
User of the Content Manager client tools have an improved user experience when tracking down where objects are used. Previously, there were limited places in the user interface where users could view the "Where used" information, specifically, only in Publication Manager for an open publication or in Authoring Bridge for an open topic. The information is now available from many more places, including when browsing through the repository and when viewing search results.
- Focus on newly created items
-
When creating new items in the Browse Repository window, the focus is now automatically on the newly created item.
- User interface in Canadian French
- All client tools are now available in Canadian French, and so is the documentation for the client tools.
Condition Builder
A number of improvements have been made in the Condition Builder in the client tools, including a quick condition or condition value finder for customers with lots of conditions and condition values.
Publication Manager
- Improvements to disabling Review Space or Draft Space
-

- Avoiding accidental changes when scrolling
-
A user scrolling their mouse wheel could inadvertently select a different value in a dropdown list that had focus. Such a change was additionally difficult to notice. As from Tridion Docs 15.1, scrolling the mouse wheel no longer has this effect.
- Alphabetically sorted Resources folder
-
In the tree view of a publication, the items in the Resources folder were presented in no particular order. As from Tridion Docs 15.1, these items are now automatically sorted alphabetically by object title.
- Better display of output formats
-
When selecting an output format to add to the Output tab, the available output formats were presented in a grid view, which truncated the names of the output formats and made them hard to tell apart. As from Tridion Docs 15.1, output formats appear in a list view, with the name of each output format displayed in full.
- Smart Tagging
- Users can now access the Smart Tagging feature from the Browse Repository window, specifically, the Apply tags option on the right-click menu.
