Configuring a review resolution for Collective Spaces users

You can define the review resolution setting to change the image resolution that is used in Collective Spaces whenever a user chooses the option to view an image in the review resolution.

About this task

Along with editing and reviewing the textual content, your Collective Spaces users may need to review the images that are part of a document, such as the details of diagrams. If a Collective Spaces user wants to see an image in more detail, they can right-click on the image and select the option to View image in review resolution. The image appears in a new browser window and uses the review resolution.

The review resolution defaults to the value configured for Preview resolution, as found under Settings > System > Default Settings in Organize Space. If the review resolution does not display images clearly or with enough detail, you can configure it so that Collective Spaces uses one of the other Tridion Docs image resolutions, such as "High".

Procedure

  1. Sign in to Organize Space as an administrator.
  2. On the top tab level, select the Settings tab.
  3. On the second tab level, select the XML Settings tab.
  4. On the third tab level, select the Collective Spaces tab.
  5. In the XML, find the line with the reviewResolution element. (If the element is commented out, remove the comment delimiters.)
  6. Select the appropriate value for the ishvaluetype attribute.
The ishvaluetype attribute specifies whether the resolution is given as its unique identifier (value id), its element name (value element) or its name (value value). For example:
    • <reviewResolution ishvaluetype="value">High</reviewResolution> specifies that the resolution whose name is "High" must be used.
    • <reviewResolution ishvaluetype="element">VRESLOW</reviewResolution> specifies that the resolution whose element name is "VRESLOW" must be used.
  7. Set the contents of the reviewResolution element to an value that is appropriate for the value type you set in the previous step.
For example, if you set ishvaluetype to "value", you should now define the contents of the element as the name of the resolution you want to use, such as High.
  8. Select Save to save your changes.

Results

When users use the option to View image in review resolution, they will now see the images in the resolution you configured.
