Creating a new publication in Publication Manager

Create a publication organize your content in a publishable document.

About this task

This topic describes steps to complete the task in Publication Manager. You can also perform this task in Organize Space.

Procedure

  1. In Publication Manager, click Tools > Browse Repository.
  2. In the left pane, select the container in which to create and store the publication.
    Remember, the content type of the container must be Publications.
  3. On the toolbar in the right pane, click the icon for New Publication.
    The Select Template dialog opens.
  4. Click New Publication then click Next.
  5. Enter the Title for the publication.
    Other fields are optional. Enter data as needed.
  6. Click OK.

Results

The new publication is created. It is initially empty, so the next step it to add a root map. You can then add additional child maps, add variable resources, select topic versions to define the baseline, create set a condition context, create outputs, and naturally, publish.
