Deleting objects from the local storage

Files downloaded to local storage when you check out or view from the repository are not automatically deleted. After a time, local storage can become quite full. You can delete files from storage when you no longer need them stored locally.

About this task

Procedure

  1. From your XML authoring application, select Tridion Docs > Open local storage.
  2. Right-click on the file you want to delete.
To select and delete multiple files, press the Ctrl or Shift key and select the files then right-click on a selected file.
  3. Click Delete.
    • If an object is checked in or released, you are prompted to confirm that you want to delete the object. If you click Yes, the object is deleted from local storage.
    • If the object is checked out, you are warned, if you delete it you will lose any changes made to it. If you click Yes, the object is deleted from your local storage. This action is similar to selecting Undo Checkout. Do not delete objects that are checked out unless you want to discard your changes.
  4. Click Cancel in the Local storage window to return to the XML authoring application.
