How can I clean up the event log?
Use Organize Space to clean the event logs when they become too large and take too long to load and display.
Question: My event log is taking up too much space and takes too long to load. How can I remove or truncate the file?
- Sign in to Organize Space as a user with administrator-level credentials
- Click the top-level tab Events.
- On the left, select the tab that represents the type of events whose logs you'd like to delete the logs. To delete logs of any type, select All Events.
- In the button toolbar at the top right, select which logs you want to see: recent logs, failed logs, busy logs, logs that generated warnings, or all logs.
- In the list that appears on the right, select the event or events whose logs you want to delete. You can sort the list by selecting the Date created or Date modified column, to put the oldest events at the top. You can also select multiple contiguous events with the Shift key, or multiple non-contiguous events with the Ctrl key.
- Once you've selected the events whose logs you want to delete, select Delete in the button toolbar.
- When prompted, click Yes to confirm that you want to delete.
