How can I mark text that should not be translated?

Text that should not be translation may be marked so no translation takes place.

Queastion: I do not want some words or phrases to be translated. How can I mark them to ensure that the original wording is maintained when the object is sent for translation?

For instance, you may want to ensure product or company name is not translated or, you may not want the wording on a button not to be translated when the interface is only available in one language.

To do this, in DITA set a translate=no attribute on the element not to be translated. For instance, strings that should not be translated such as product names or functionality naming, you can put them inside a phrase element and mark them with translate=no.

Make certain that your translators are aware of, and honor the attribute.
