Insert a cross reference to a bookmark to create a link to a specific location in another object in the repository.
Before you begin
- The data to which you want to link requires a unique identifier (@id).
- You must have permission to edit and store objects in the Content Manager repository.
Procedure
- In your XML authoring tool with the object open for editing, place the cursor where you want to insert the link, or select the text you want to use as the linked text.
- Insert the or element.
The Insert Hyperlink window is displayed.
- Browse through the repository and select the object to which you want to link.
- Click Bookmarks..
The Select window opens.
- Select the bookmark (ID) to which you want to link then click OK.
- If you selected text to link, the text becomes the link to the data in the other file.
- If you did not select text, the topic title becomes the link to the file.
- You can specify the text to use as the link in the Text to display field at the bottom of the Insert Hyperlink window.
- Click Insert.
The linked text becomes a hyperlink to the bookmark in the other file.
