When you check out an object, it is downloaded to local storage. The option to Make available in local storage downloads all references in the object to local storage. You can then disconnect from the repository or network and work offline on the file in local storage. You can check in the objects at another time when you have reconnected to the repository.
Procedure
- Check out or view an object from the repository.
- In your authoring tool, click .
Results
The object and all referenced graphics are saved to local storage.
Note:
- If the object was checked out, it is locked in the repository, and its mode in local storage is checked out with a read-write status .
- If the object was being viewed, its mode in local storage is checked in with a read-only status.
- Referenced objects' mode in local storage is checked in with read-only status.
- You can check out objects from local storage that have read-only status if you are connected to the repository. Check out changes the status to read-write.
