Modifying attributes of a map's <topicref> element from Publication Manager

Rather than opening and editing a map in your authoring tool, you can modify the attributes on a <topicref> element while still in Publication Manager. In the default Content Manager configuration, you can modify attributes that control addressing, key definition, condition, format, and linking, and can specify the contents of a <navtitle> element.

Procedure

  1. In Publication Manager, open a publication.
  2. Check out the map.
  3. Right-click the <topicref> element then click XML Attributes.
The Insert Values for Topic Ref window opens.
  4. Modify the applicable attributes.
By default, you can modify the following fields:
    HRef
Specify the value of the @href attribute.
    Key definition
Specify the value of the keys attribute.
    Navigation title
Specify the content of the <navtitle> element.
    Condition
Specify the value of the @ishcondition attribute.
    Format
Specify the value of the @format attribute. You can select from the following values: dita, ditamap, html, pdf, and xml.
    Linking
Specify the value of the @linking attribute. You can select from the following values: (None), Normal, Source only, and Target only.
  5. Click OK.
