Publishing status
The publishing status for a publication output indicates the state of the publish process or the outcome.
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| To Be Published | The publication output has been defined and is ready to be published. No publishing has been initiated. |
| Pending | The publishing process has been requested but not yet started by the server. The server that processes publishing jobs is busy processing other jobs, and the pending job will be processed as soon as possible. |
| Publishing | The rendering of the publication is in progress. |
| Draft | The output was published successfully, but it is not yet ready for release.
Specifically, there are issues in the rendered content that prevent the output from being a Release Candidate. Typical issues include the following:
The publish report lists all issues that were found during the publishing process. |
| Deploying Draft | When publishing to Dynamic Delivery, the output has published successfully but the deployment of the output is still in progress. As with the Draft status, the output is not yet ready for release. |
| Release Candidate | The content was published without any issues and the publication output can be released. Specifically, this means:

| Out-of-date | The previously published output is out of date due to changes in certain aspects of the publication. Specifically, one or more of the following events have occurred since the last time the output was published:
To apply these changes to the deployed output, you need to republish. |
| Released | The publication output has been released. You can make no further changes to the content of the publication. |
| Failed | The publishing process did not complete successfully due to a serious error. |
| Unpublish Pending | The unpublishing process was initiated. The server that processes these jobs is busy processing other jobs. The job is processed when possible. |
| Unpublishing | The unpublishing of the publication is in progress. |
| Unpublish Failed | The unpublishing process did not complete successfully due to a serious error. |
| Cancelled | The user stopped the publishing or unpublishing process before it had finished. Unpublishing can be cancelled only during the unpublish pending phase. |
