Managing service accounts in Access Management
Service accounts enable applications and other non-human users to authenticate through Access Management and be authorized to access APIs.
Default service accounts
Access Management provides the following preconfigured service accounts:
| Service account | Default access settings |

| Access Management API Client (admin) | The default settings give access to the Access Management API with the rights, permissions and privileges of the Administrator role. |
| Add-ons API Client (service) | The default settings give access toAdd-ons Service with the rights, permissions and privileges permissions of the Service role. This role allows some, but not all, of the operations that Administrator can perform. |
| Tridion Sites Content Manager API Client (admin) | The default settings give access to Content Manager with the rights, permissions and privileges permissions of the Administrator role. |
Custom service accounts
Access Management enables you to create new custom service accounts to use in addition to the default ones for Tridion Sites.
