Removing items from Bundles in Content Manager Explorer

If needed, you can remove items from a Bundle by modifying the Bundle in Content Manager Explorer . For some item types, you can also modify the item itself to remove it from one or more Bundles.

Before you begin

This task requires that you or your group has permission to remove items from the Bundle. Note that the permissions can vary from Bundle to Bundle.

If a Bundle is involved in an active workflow process, you can remove items from it only if both of the following are true:
  • The Bundle is currently not in a workflow state that prohibits the removing of items from it.
  • None of the items you intend to remove are currently being worked on by a user that is not you.

Procedure

  • Modify the Bundle to remove one or more items from that Bundle:
    1. In the navigation pane on the left, select the Bundle from which you want to remove items.
The Bundle shows its contents in the list view on the right, and a Bundle tab appears in the Ribbon toolbar.
    2. Select the item or items you want to remove in the list and select Remove from Bundle in the Bundle tab.
  • Modify the item to remove that item from one or more Bundles:
    1. In the navigation pane on the left, select the Folder or Structure Group that contains the workflow item.
    2. From the list view, open the item and select the Bundles tab.
You see a list of one or more Bundles that this item currently belongs to.
    3. Select a Bundle from which you want to remove this item and select Remove from Bundle.
    4. Repeat the previous step as needed to remove it from other Bundles.

Results

The selected items are removed from the Bundle. Note the following:
  • If the Bundle is in workflow, the items are taken out of workflow in its current state. It retains its current approval status.
  • Some items required to be part of a Bundle. If you removed such an item from a Bundle and it is no longer in any Bundle, you must add the item to at least one Bundle again, and then complete that Bundle's workflow process. This is necessary before you can check in any changes to the item.
