Setting up Trados Enterprise
If you are using Trados Enterprise as your translation system, there are steps to be performed in both systems to complete the integration.
The following steps describe the overall process. For more information on the integration steps and flow, refer to the documentation for Trados Enterprise.
- Complete all Trados Enterprise prerequisite tasks, which includes obtaining an account for Trados Enterprise with the necessary access rights and entitlements. This step includes obtaining an API Key, which you will need in order to configure the connection in the TranslationManager.xml file in a later step.
- Configure a project template in Trados Enterprise. This step involves configuring a number of component resources. At the completion of this task, note the project template ID, which you need to is used to generate the
configurationIDyou need to set up your publication (and translation job) in Tridion Sites. - Provide the project template ID from the previous step to your RWS representative and ask them to provide the
configurationID. This ID instructs Tridion Sites what Trados Enterprise resources to use when the integration service creates the Trados Enterprise translation project automatically. - In Tridion Sites, do the following:
- Follow the steps for Connecting to Trados Enterprise, specifying the API Key that RWS provided to you.
- Configure source and target content according to the normal process (see related topics), noting the following:
- As the translation management system, select RWS Translation Manager System. (Trados Enterprise does not have a separate option.)
- In the Configuration ID field, enter the value provided to you. This value connects translation jobs to the Trados Enterprise project template, which then defines the source language, target languages and workflow.
- Under Default Workflow, select the Trados Enterprise project template.
Tridion Sites, users can now create translation jobs through Trados Enterprise. When you send content for localization,Trados Enterprise will automatically create a localization project. When the project is finalized, Tridion Sites will automatically retrieve the translated content.
