Setting up your browser for Experience Space

In most instances,Experience Space will work fine without having to do any special browser configuration; however, it is may need to adjust certain browser features to ensure that everything works properly.

About this task

This topic gives the steps to configure a Windows machine and are performed in Windows from Internet Properties, which you can open a number of ways, such as by selecting Internet Options from the Start menu or Control Panel. The steps to do the same on other supported devices will naturally differ.

Depending on your system access, you may not be able to perform these tasks. If you have issues, contact your system administrator.

Procedure

  • To allow downloads in local intranet zone, do the following:
    1. In the Internet Properties window, go to the Security tab.
    2. Select Local intranet as the zone and then click Sites.
      The Local intranet dialog displays a list of generic site settings.
    3. Click the Advanced button.
      A window displays a list of all sites associated with this zone.
    4. Enter the URL of the user interface and click Add.
      The site is added to the list.
    5. Click Close > OK.
    6. Again on the Security tab with the Local intranet zone selected, click Custom Level.
    7. In the Settings list, locate and select Downloads > File download > Enable
    8. Click OK to close the Advanced Privacy Settings dialog.
  • To allow session cookies, do the following:
    1. In the Internet Properties window, go to the Privacy tab.
    2. Click the Advanced button.
      The Advanced Privacy Settings dialog opens.
    3. Select Always allow session cookies.
    4. Click OK to close the Advanced Privacy Settings dialog.
  • For all browsers you intend to use, disable popup-blocking functionality.
If you are using Mozilla Firefox and are unable to access the Tridion user interface, for example, you see only blank page or the login prompt never goes away even, the browser may need additional, advanced configuration. Contact your System Administrator. Alternatively, you can use Chrome or Edge instead of Mozilla Firefox.
