Starting workflow on a Bundle in Content Manager Explorer

Unlike other items, Bundles do not enter a workflow process automatically in response to a trigger; instead, you must start workflow manually. Starting workflow on a Bundle puts into workflow the Bundle itself and all of the items it contains.

Before you begin

It is possible for the items in a Bundle to already be part of completely separate workflow processes. If this is the case, the Bundle's workflow process can be started only when all of its items have completed their own workflow processes.

Procedure

  1. In the navigation tree on the left, locate and select the Bundle on which you want to start workflow.
  2. On the Bundle tab of the toolbar, select Start Workflow Process.

If you receive an error, it is likely that the Bundle does not meet workflow requirements.

To be able to enter workflow, all of the following must be true for your Bundle:
    • The Bundle Schema you choose is associated with a workflow process definition.
    • The Bundle contains only items that are capable of entering workflow.
    • None of the items in the Bundle is associated with another active workflow process.

If no error appears, Content Manager places all items in the Bundle in workflow, and triggers the first activity in the workflow process. For mor information on workflow, refer to the related topics on workflow.
