Uploading a custom configuration for an Add-on

Upload a custom configuration for an Add-on from the screen showing Add-on details. You can also upload and replace the configuration file of an Add-on that already has one.

Before you begin

Before uploading a custom configuration on your file system, be sure you have obtained the required file format and contents from the developer of the Add-on.

About this task

Some Add-ons require a custom configuration, others allow for a custom configuration, and yet others allow for no custom configuration. If a custom configuration is required, the Add-on remains disabled until you add a custom configuration.

You can also upload a custom configuration file to an Add-on that already has one. In that case, your new file replaces the old custom configuration uploaded previously.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Classic Tridion Sites user interface.
  2. From the slide-out navigation menu, select Add-ons.
The Add-ons screen shows a list of existing Add-ons.
  3. Select the name of an Add-on to which you adding the configuration.
  4. In the Configuration area of the Add-on's detail screen (right-hand side ), select Add.
A standard file browse and select interface for your operating system opens.
  5. Navigate to the location of your custom configuration file, select it and select Open.
Tridion Sites uploads the custom configuration files and adds it to the Add-on.

What to do next

If the custom configuration was required, the Add-on is now available and ready for use.
