Working in the Add-ons user interface

Select Add-ons in your slide-out navigation to access the Add-ons screen where you can manage the Add-ons that your Tridion Sites implementation uses.

Manage tab

The Manage tab of the Add-ons screen shows all of the Add-ons that are present in this environment (including disabled Add-ons). The list shows a number of properties for each Add-on, including the version, status, configuration requirements, and details on who last updated the Add-ons and when.

To view additional details on extensions contained in the Add-ons or upload a new configuration file, click the row of an Add-on.

Find and Develop tab

The Find and Develop tab of the Add-ons screen contains quick links to product documentation about working with Add-ons and extensions in general, and about specific extension points in particular. It also enables you to visit the RWS AppStore in order to find Add-ons or extensions, made by others, that you may wish to reuse.

Uploading new packages

The Upload Add-on Package button lets you upload a new Add-on package (ZIP file).

After uploading a package, the CONFIGURATION column shows the status of the custom configuration for the Add-on as either Required, (but hasn't yet been uploaded), Optional (if none is required), or a timestamp of the moment when this version of the package was (most recently) uploaded.

For detailed instructions on uploading new Add-ons or updating a configuration file, refer to the related tasks.

Add-on status

The STATUS column shows one of the following values as the current status of an Add-on:
StatusDescription
SuccessThe deployment of the Add-on was successful.
Pending ActivationThe package for this Add-on has been uploaded, and Tridion Sites will activate it as soon as possible.
Waiting for configurationThe Add-on requires a custom configuration file to be uploaded, to be supplied by an application administrator. The Add-on will not be active until that point.
DisabledThe Add-on is still loaded in the system but disabled for use across all services. You can re-enable it, as needed.
FailedThe Add-on has failed to load. For information on resolving a failed Add-on, see the related troubleshooting topic.
