Writing ITS Rules

Translation Manager comes with an ITS Rules document in which you can define the elements and attributes you want to send for translation. You can use this file to, for example, control which content from a Format Area gets sent for translation.

Procedure

  1. Decide which ITS Rules you want to apply for your translation environment.
For guidelines about writing ITS Rules, refer to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Internationalization Tag Set (ITS) standard at http://www.w3.org/TR/xml-i18n-bp/#Generic.
  2. On your Content Manager server, go to the %TRIDION_HOME%\config directory.
  3. Open TranslationManager.XHTML.ITS.Rules.xml file in a text editor.
  4. Modify the file according to your personal preference.
  5. Save and close the file.
