Group Permissions

Group permissions control access to various parts of the Legacy Content Delivery user interface and functionality, as well as granting or revoking permissions on a group to fine-tune the level of user access.

PermissionDescription
Use applicationGrants access to the core functionality of the application. Lets users view the Legacy Content Delivery landing page and list of available publications, and to change the language in which he or she wants to view the application.

For a group of users to be able to use your application, they must have this permission. If you do not want a group to be able to access the application at all (for example, anonymous users, the guest group), remove this permission.

View Source XMLLets users view the XML for an individual topic.
Edit own profileLets users modify their own profiles. If a user is not part of a group that has this permission granted, then only an administrator that belongs to a group with the Manage users permission can modify that user's profile.
Edit topicLets users edit a topic.
Manage appUsed to set the global configuration options for an application, including the ability to:
  • System

    access the Manage App administration tool

    view system status

    change existing global config items (such as language or skin)

    add custom global config items

  • Group

    add and delete groups

    change group permissions

    change group membership

  • User

    add, remove, and delete individual users

    change an individual user's password

    change the groups to which an individual user is a member

Manage pubsGrants permission to create and delete publications and language versions, change a publication's or language version's configuration, upload content to a language version, hide or show a publication or language version, and prepare a publication.
Develop appGrants access to the Developer's Workbench administration tool, where you can modify and create skins. This also lets you add and modify form definitions.
Use XFormsLets users see forms and their contents.
Create FormsLets users create comments and reply to them.
Manage XFormsLets you delete any comments, regardless of who created them.
Change XForm StatusLets a user change the status of comments.
