Verifying Content Distribution Status

There are various ways to view the status of content distribution (status of packages and delivery servers).

Procedure

  1. View the Event Log.
    1. If you are on a Legacy Content Delivery page, select Home in the breadcrumb trail.
The Legacy Content Delivery landing page appears.
    2. In the Administration Tools pane, click Manage Application.
    3. Under Distribution Center, click Event Log.
Each line item provides further detail and the status is indicated by the following icons:
    ColorStatus
    Event SuccessfulThe event succeeded.
Event DelayedThe event is delayed due to a lock on a publication or other blocking event. The event will wait for the next scheduled or manual push to the delivery group to try again.
Event PendingThe event is pending, waiting for the next scheduled or manual push to the delivery group.
    Event FailedThe event failed.

For additional details, you can view the distribution log on the server. Distribution log information is logged into a special log, named livecontent.distribution.log which is stored in your installation's log folder.

The most recent entries are at the bottom of the file. If this log file does not exist, you must run the distribution preparation procedure.

  2. View a delivery server's status.
    1. In the left pane, click Distribution.
    2. In the list of profiles, click the distribution profile that contains the delivery server whose status you want to view.
    3. On the Servers tab, click on the expand/collapse triangle to the left of the server names. When expanded you will see progress icons for the package as well as the individual pubs included for distribution.
