  1. Use the menu bar for basic editing and saving operations, and for opening the various menus, which reveal further buttons for inserting specific types of elements.
  2. The comments navigator provides tools you can use to filter and navigate comments, as well as add new comments. The navigator is initially shown as collapsed. You can expand it for more detail or close it altogether, as needed.
  3. The comments area shows you the individual comments. The comments appear in a condensed view until you click on the comment.
  4. The side panel on the right side of the screen provides additional options for viewing the content. Click the button at the top of the screen to expand the panel.
Depending on system configuration, the panel may show the following panes:
    Search
The Search pane lets you search through the entire document and replace the searched text, provided that it occurs in a topic that is in a draft state.
    Attributes
The Attributes pane shows you the XML attributes of whatever element is currently selected in the content area. You can select or set values for attributes as needed.
    XML source code
The XML source pane (tab labeled </>) reveals the XML source of the currently selected map or topic in read-only mode.
    Properties
The Properties pane reveals the properties of the currently displayed topic or map
    Draft Companion
The Draft Companion pane gives you access to an easy-to-use tool for improving content. Based on your prompts, Draft Companion analyzes selected text and provides suggestions to enhance clarity, engagement, and comprehension.
  5. The content area shows the full document in a single, scrolling view.

At the top of each topic, you can see that topic's status. If a topic has a status that allows editing, you can click inside the area and start editing the content.

The editor works in a similar way to other text editors just with the underlying DITA XML structure controlling what you can do where within the content.

  6. The outline shows the structure of the entire document.

The outline pane includes the following features to help you quickly find content:

    (More actions)
The menu provides options changing the display of the outline, including expanding and collapsing the hierarchical structure.
The Quick navigation option lets you enter (part of) the name of a topic in the document and jump directly to it. You can also activate Quick navigation from anywhere in Review Space using the shortcut ctrl+g in Windows or cmd+g in MacOS.
    Search
The outline's Search box lets you quickly locate specific text anywhere in the outline.
You can use the (filter) to show only items having a certain status.
    Context menu
A context menu appears when you right-click on an item in the Outline menu and provides options that are specific to the selected item. The following are some examples of the actions you can perform:
    • Insert new components (under the selected component)
    • Arrange components in the outline
    • Modify the attributes of a component (a topic or map)
    • Copy links to the component in Draft Space or Review Space
  7. The footer area of the screen shows you the path to the current element. Clicking on a node in the path selects the corresponding element in the content area.
