Draft Space lets you switch to a new version of a topic that you select in the document.
Before you begin
- A document is displayed in Draft Space and you have the rights to edit it.
- If no newer version of the selected topic or map exists, a new version can be created for the selected topic or map. This may not be possible: if the topic or map is part of a document whose status prevents you from creating new versions, you cannot create a new version of the topic or map.
Procedure
- In the Outline tab, select the topic or map for which you want to switch to a new version. That topic must show the text Document is released above it.
- Next to that text, select New version.
One of the following happens:
- If another user has already created a newer version of this topic or map before you did, and if the latest newer version is not yet released, Draft Space automatically shows you this latest newer version in the document.
- Alternatively, if no other user has yet created a newer version of this topic or map, or if the latest newer version of this topic or map is released, the Properties for a new version dialog opens. The properties visible in that dialog depend on your specific configuration.
- If you see the Properties for a new version dialog, do the following:
- To describe what prompted you to create a new version, switch on the Show optional fields slider and write the reason in the Changes field.
- Select Create to replace the topic or map with its new version in the document in Draft Space.
- Edit the content of the topic or map as needed in Draft Space.
