Issue: Legacy publish paths used for Page Includes may not be properly converted

If you are upgrading from a DXA release before 2.0, your Page Includes may stop working, because their publish paths cannot be converted.

Problem:

Before DXA 2.0, references to Page Includes could only be made in the form of "publish paths," that is, relative URL paths. As of DXA 2.0, such references should take the form of either Content Manager URIs or WebDAV URLs. WebDAV URLs are preferred, because they enable you to transfer these items between Content Manager instances in a DTAP setup.

To make this change easier for you, DXA 2.0 Template Building Blocks make a best-effort attempt to convert any legacy publish paths to WebDAV URLs, but they need to make several assumptions in order to do so:
  • The Template Building Blocks assume that your Structure Group titles correspond to your directory names.
  • The Template Building Blocks assume that your Page titles can be derived from your Page filenames.

If these assumptions are incorrect, your publish paths will be incorrect as well, and the resulting broken Page Includes will not work.

Workaround:

The best way to avoid any problems with Page Includes is to manually replace their publish paths with corresponding WebDAV URLs.
