Downloading all files in bulk from Inbox

You can batch download (bulk download) the source and target files corresponding to the tasks you accepted. You can also choose to download only completed files (by selecting the Only completed files check box).

About this task

Downloading the files in bulk mode, for several tasks, is useful when you want to process several files offline and you do not want to open every single task to perform the download.

You can bulk download files for Translation tasks. You must accept the tasks before being able to download their latest available file version.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Trados Studio cloud capabilities by accessing this link: https://cloud.trados.com.
  2. Go to the Inbox view.
  3. Select the Active tab.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Identify the tasks and select their check boxes. Select More actions > Download and choose the type of files you want to download: Target files > Current version, Target files > Native version, Source files. Note that if you select Target files, you can also choose to download only completed files (by selecting the Only completed files check box).
    • Identify tasks from one project and select their check boxes. Select More actions > Download all files from project and choose the type of files you want to download: Target files > Current version, Target files > Native version, Source files. Note that if you select Target files, you can also choose to download only completed files (by selecting the Only completed files check box).
    • Do not select any task. The list of projects is populated only with the projects where you have Active tasks, namely tasks you have accepted. Identify the PROJECT column, and from the context menu of a specific project, select Download all files from project. Choose the type of file you want to download: Target files > Current version, Target files > Native version, Source files. Note that if you select Target files, you can also choose to download only completed files (by selecting the Only completed files check box).
  5. Extract the files from the *.zip archive and work offline on the current version (latest version).
    • For Translation tasks, the current version is an *.sdlxliff file. The file name is concatenated as follows: task ID + Underscore symbol + target file name + source file extension + sdlxliff.
  6. Work on your files offline:
    • Translate or edit the files.
    • Rename the files. If you rename your file, the batch upload can function as follows:
      • If you delete the task ID from the file name, the system cannot automatically match your file with the project it belongs to when you perform the batch upload operation. You will need to match files manually.
      • If the file you are uploading does not contain the task ID and its name is different from that of the file you are replacing, the system cannot automatically match your file with the project it belongs to when you perform the batch upload operation. You will need to match files manually.
    • Save the file with a different file type extension. If you change the file type extension, make sure the new file type extension is included and configured in the file type configuration of the project.
