Step 2: Install drivers for NMT language pairs

If you want to access NMT (Neural Machine Translation) language pairs, you are currently working with SDL ETS 7.4 or higher. You need to install NVIDIA drivers on the hosts where the NMT language pairs will be installed.

About this task

You must install NVIDIA drivers on your Linux system. The CUDA Toolkit required for SDL ETS 8.0 is now included in the installer, so you no longer have to download and install it separately.

Procedure

  1. Install NVIDIA drivers:
    1. Execute $ wget http://us.download.nvidia.com/tesla/396.37NVIDIA-Linux-x86 64-396.37.run.
    2. Execute $ sudo bash NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-396.37.run.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Test and verify whether the Language Pairs are using the GPU properly by running nvidia-smi when prompted.
