By adding comments, you can make suggestions to translators and reviewers and help improve the overall quality of the translation. You can add comments only to target segments.
Procedure
- Open the appropriate file in SDL Online Editor.
- Do one of the following:

| Add a comment to the current selection, to the current segment, or to the entire file. | Select a fragment of text in the target segment. |
| Add a comment to the current segment or to the entire file. | Click anywhere inside a target segment that has text in it. |
| Add a comment to the entire file. | Click anywhere inside an empty target segment. |
- On the right side of the screen, select Show Comments
.
The Comments pane is displayed.
- In the Comments pane, in the text box, enter your comment.
- In the Scope list, select whether you want to add the comment to the current selection, to the current segment, or to the entire file.
- In the Severity Level list, select the severity level (or importance) of your comment.
- Select Add.
Results
If you added a comment to a selection or to a segment, that selection or segment is highlighted. Also, when the
file you are working on contains comments, a small dot is displayed next to the
Show Comments button:
