Translating and force check-in files from SDL Trados GroupShare

When files are in translation, you can perform a force check-in on them, fromSDL Trados GroupShare, if you are assigned one of the following roles: Project Manager, Power User and Administrator.

About this task

The force check-in operation disconnects the persons who are currently translating the files in SDL Online Editor and preserves the latest changes performed on the file in SDL Online Editor. This option is particularly useful if translators/reviewers finish their work but forget to check-in their changes.

Procedure

  1. Translators do one of the following:
    • Click the file-name link in the notification email to open their SDL Trados GroupShare assigned files in SDL Online Editor.
    • Log in to SDL Trados GroupShare, go to Dashboard, and, under Your Tasks, select near the assignment translators want to work on.
    • Log in to SDL Trados GroupShare, go to Projects, select the project where the assignment is stored, select the checkbox next to the file translators want to work on, and then select Open in Editor.
The file automatically opens in SDL Online Editor and is ready for editing.
  2. Translators edit the file in SDL Online Editor.
  3. Project Managers, Power Users and Administrators can force check in the files which are checked out in SDL Online Editor by translators or reviewers. In SDL Trados GroupShare, go to the Projects view, open the project where the file is located, select the file you want to force check in, and then select Force check-in.
