Creating the Content Manager databases using TDM
Content Manager Server requires a Content Manager database and Logging database. Use the SDL Tridion Database Manager (TDM) tool to create Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle databases.
Before you begin
The SDL Tridion Database Manager tool will prompt you for the following information which you will need to store in a safe place as you will need it when you install Content Manager Server:
- DBA and user credentials (unless you created an Oracle SDL Tridion administrator user)
- the names of the databases
- the server and port number (if non-standard) where the your database server resides
Before running the SDL Tridion Database Manager tool:
- On Oracle, make sure that there are no open database connections before running the SDL Tridion Database Manager tool and perform Configuring Oracle database server.
- On Microsoft SQL Server, perform Configuring Microsoft SQL Server database server.
About this task
You need to run the SDL Tridion Database Manager tool twice to install the Content Manager database and Content Manager Logging database on separate servers. You must be logged on as an administrator user to run the SDL Tridion Database Manager tool.
