Resolved issues in Audience Manager and Outbound E-mail
The following issues were resolved in Audience Manager and Outbound E-mail in 2009.
- Multiple attachments
- To ensure that an attachment would be sent both to recipients of HTML-formatted and to recipient of plain-text e-mails, a user would need to attach a file twice. This also meant that recipients of multipart e-mails would receive the same attachment twice. This is now no longer the case. Also, attaching multiple (different) attachments would not work under certain conditions.
- Creating new Contacts updated existing Contacts
- Under certain circumstances, while importing Contacts, Outbound E-mail would update an existing Contact even though the user specifically instructed to only create new Contacts.
- Outbound E-mail services failed to start if SQL Server was not yet ready
- On fast servers, Outbound E-mail services would fail to start because they would attempt to start before Microsoft SQL Server was started. This problem now no longer occurs.
- Adding Outbound E-mail Groups to User Groups would fail
- While it was possible to add specific groups of Outbound E-mail rights (that is, Mailing Execution, Mailing Management, Contact Management and Distribution List Management) to a specific user, granting such rights to Groups did not work correctly. This issue is now resolved.
- Updating Contacts was not transactional
- When using the Java Contact API to update Contact details and extended details, overlapping updates would cause problems because the updates were not transactional. This is no longer the case.
- Opening a Contact in Outbound E-mail generates a warning message in the Event Viewer
-
When opening a Contact in Outbound E-mail a warning message was generated in the Event Viewer. Although the functionality of Outbound E-mail was unaffected, the situation lead to the growth of these warnings in the Event Viewer.
- Opening a Contact from Mailing statistics
-
You can view the statistics of a Mailing in the Mailing Status window. When you open a Distribution List that was part of the Mailing, you can now select and open a Contact that was part of the Mailing to view their details.
- Saving a Contact filter in Internet Explorer
- In Internet Explorer, when you performed a search on an Address Book and consequently saved the Contact filter the name and description fields in the Choose item to save behaved erratically: tabbing between them doid not work, and when you copied and pasted values into the fields old value suddenly appeared.
- Deleting multiple Distribution Lists or Segments
-
When you deleted multiple Distribution Lists or Segments, the system hung unless the user was a system administrator. When you canceled the action, an
invalid urimessage was thrown by the Content Manager system instead of the Audience Manager system. - JNDI storage configuration
- Audience Manager previously did not work correctly using JNDI storage configuration.
- Editing a Contact
-
If you open a Contact, add some text, remove what you have just added, then save and close you will get the following error:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object. - Send Mailing screen shows 0 e-mails in queue
- In the Send Mailing screen, the E-mails in queue field always stated 0 even after re-opening the Send Mailing screen (incorrect reporting).
- Contacts in Mailing Statistics in Internet Explorer 7
- In Internet Explorer 7, in the Statistics tab of a Mailing, when you selected Show Contacts no Contacts were displayed.
- Adding and removing E-Mail Campaign saves automatically
- When you used the Add or Remove buttons on a Mailing in an E-Mail Campaign and closed the Campaign without saving, the changes were saved without clicking Save.
- Drop-down options in Contact Detail not translated (French)
- On the Contact Details screen, the options in the drop-down lists were in English on a French system.
