Version 4.0 – released in September 2020

Version 4.0 of the connector includes various improvements related to translation projects.

Extended support for Sitecore content

You can now create translation projects from the Content Editor, the Experience Editor, and the Media Library.

Linked/related items

When you create translation projects, you now have the option to include all linked/related items that the selected item includes, such linked media items, pages, and other Sitecore items. You can also configure the depth at which the connector checks to find all related items.

Multiple draft projects

You can now create multiple draft projects, which extends the use of the connector to multiple content owners simultaneously.

Language mapping

Added a custom language mapping component which helps you map Sitecore languages to RWS languages. This allows Sitecore site developers to set English (en) as their base source language, or to map French (fr) to French Canadian (fr-CA) in their RWS product.

Item translation filters

The module now offers extended support for translation rules, allowing Sitecore developers to configure which templates or items are translatable and which item fields should be translated, not translated, or copied from source. The fallback feature is retained where required.

User experience features

A number of user experience improvements have been included in this release:
  1. Improved performance when loading the Translation Projects table.
  2. When you update the status of a project or refresh the Translation Projects table, the table now remains on the same page or project you were working on. In previous versions, the table would revert to page 1.
  3. There is now an additional action button which helps you archive all the completed translation projects.
