Searching for termbase entries

Retrieve termbase entries faster and accurately by searching for them.

Procedure

  1. In Trados Studio, select Sign in in the top-right corner to connect to your cloud account.
  2. Log in with your RWS ID credentials. Trados Studio shows all the cloud accounts that you are a member of.
  3. Select your cloud account name from the drop-down menu, and then select RWS Account at the bottom of the window. This opens your cloud account in your default browser where you are prompted to log in.
  4. In the cloud environment, go to the Terminology view or to the Projects > Resources > Termbases.
  5. Click inside a termbase row to open the termbase.
  6. Expand the search menu (search menu button) and select a search type:
    • Normal search — Searches for the exact string or text you enter.
    • Linguistic fuzzy search — Searches for text or terms which are similar to or a sub-part of the search term. For example, if you enter a derived word, linguistic fuzzy search retrieves all the terms based on that word's stem (or root).
    • Character-based fuzzy search — Searches text or terms which are similar to or a sub-part of the search term, but is more fault-tolerant than linguistic fuzzy search.
  7. Enter the text you want to search for.

Results

Trados Terminology automatically searches for the text string you entered and shows the available results.
