Filtering resources globally

You can filter resources and projects globally, at application level. Global filters apply to all the views and tabs where the Location filter is available.

About this task

Global filters do not apply in the Customers view.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Trados Team (by accessing this link: http://languagecloud.sdl.com/lc).
  2. On the right-hand side of the main navigation bar, select Global Filter funnel symbol.
  3. Select a customer location. To include the results of any available child locations, select the Include results from child locations check box.
    • How do I know that a global filter is applied on a resource or a project? When you open the Filters menu in the left-hand side of a resource screen, you can see the funnel symbol and a check Global Filter applied on a resource or project, which shows that the global filter applies to that resource.
    • What happens if I apply a global filter, but I then apply a filter at resource level or project level? If you apply a global filter, but then you apply a local filter on a specific resource Local Filter at resource level or project level, the local filter takes precedence, and the global filter is reset on that resource.
    • What happens if I apply a local filter, but then I apply a global filter? The global filter applies, as it is considered that you initiated a new filtering operation.

What happens if I apply a global filter, then a local filter, and finally a global filter? The last filter applies, namely the global filter, in our example.
