Making customer folders public or private

The customer folders you create in your account are public, by default. You can make them private, if needed. When both parent and child folders are set to public, child folders inherit (see and use) the parent resources. Setting a parent folder to private prevents child folders from inheriting (seeing and using) the parent resources.

About this task

You cannot make any of the default folders (Root, Customers) provided by the system private.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Trados Team (by accessing this link: http://languagecloud.sdl.com/lc).
  2. Go to the Customers view.
  3. Select the check box corresponding to the customer whose folder you want to make public or private.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Expand the Set Folder Visibility menu and select either Default (to make your folder public) or Private.
    • Select Edit and, from the Folder visibility list, choose an option: Default (the folder is public) or Private. Select Save.
Note that private folders have a lock icon in front of them.
