Uploading additional source files in Trados Customer Portal

You can upload as many source files as needed after project creation, as a new translation batch.

Before you begin

  • Make sure that the file names are unique per project.
  • If the project template has the Allow upload of translatable files at any stage in Customer Portal check box selected, then you can add source files as a new batch in Trados Customer Portal at any workflow phase.
  • If the project template does not have the Allow upload of translatable files at any stage in Customer Portal check box selected, then you can add source files as a new batch in Trados Customer Portal only before the Customer Quote Approval task is completed or source files can be added on your behalf by your project manager from Trados Team.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Trados Customer Portal and go to the All Projects view.
  2. Select the project of interest.
The Project Details screen is displayed.
  3. Select the Files sub-tab.
  4. Under Upload Additional Files, attach the files of interest and specify their target languages:
    • To add translatable files with all the target languages of the project:
      1. Select Default view for adding files.
      2. Select Add files and browse for your files or use the drag-and-drop feature.

When you add translatable files in this way, they automatically inherit all the target languages of the project.

    • To add translatable project files with different target languages:

      2. Select Add files and browse for your files or use the drag-and-drop feature.

      4. Select Confirm.

Every file needs to have at least one target language which must be one of the target languages of the project.

    • To change the target languages of certain uploaded files:
      1. Select Advanced view.
      2. Select the check boxes corresponding to the files whose target languages you want to change.

You can only change the target languages of translatable files.

      5. Depending on the option you chose, under Select target Languages for your files, select the appropriate target languages.

If you selected Add selected Languages, the languages you select are added to the existing target languages of the project. If you selected Replace Languages with, the languages you select replace all of the existing target languages of the project. If you selected Remove selected Languages, the languages you select are removed.

      6. Select Confirm.
    • To change the target languages of a single translatable file, you can also go to the LANGUAGES column, select one of the languages, and then add or remove entries.
  5. Select Attach Files.
