Experience Space user interface overview
This topic explains the general layout and usage of the Experience Space user interface.
The areas highlighted in the preceding screen capture are as follows:
- Title bar — Access your user profile, the message center and the help documentation.
- Structure area — Navigate the tree structure of organizational items.
- Content area — Examine or modify the content items contained in the organizational item you selected in the Structure area
- Breadcrumb trail — See the navigation path to the current item.
- Insights area — View more information about the content item you selected in the Content area.
- Insights menu — Select one of the menu's tabs to display a variety of information and options for the item you have selected in the Content area. The menu may contain the following different panels (depending on system configuration):
Icon Panel Description Information panel Displays system and other read-only information about the item, including the Item URI, date created and last modified, publishing status and location in Content Manager General panel Displays content data and metadata for the item The panel presents data as read-only, but if there is editable data, you can select the panel's heading to open the item in editing mode.
BluePrint panel Displays the item's blueprint relationships, including which Publications include the selected item as either a shred or localized item. Where used panel Displays all of the item links with the In use by tab showing the items that use the selected item and the Makes use of tab showing the items that the selected item uses. History panel Displays all the versions of a selected item including the current version. Published to panel Displays a list of publications in which the selected item has been published along with the target environments to which they were published. Translation panel Displays translation information for the item The Translated from tab shows the source Publication from which the selected item was translated.
The Translated in tab shows all target Publications where the selected item has been translated.
Both tabs indicate when a translation is out of date and needs to be updated.
Note that Experience Space remembers some changes you make to the user interface across browser sessions, provided that you use the same browser. The following settings are remembered across sessions:
- Width of the tree panel and details panel in the Managing Content Space
- Collapsed or expanded state of the tree panel and details panel in the Managing Content Space
- Width of the region tree panel in the page editor view
- With of the tree panel in the item selector
- The last selected location per publication per item type (component, multimedia component, keyword)
