Uploading and updating assets on the WorldServer 11 interface

Starting with WorldServer 11.4, you can update source assets from the Tasks page of the the WorldServer 11 interface. The updated assets must have the same name as the original source assets.

About this task

On the WorldServer 11 interface, you can update only one source asset at a time.

Procedure

  1. In WorldServer, go to the Projects page.
  2. On the Projects page, do one of the following:
    • On the WorldServer 11 interface, expand the project group that contains the appropriate project, and then select the target locale of the project.
    • On the Classic interface, click the name of the project corresponding to the appropriate target locale.

    The tasks of the project are displayed on the Tasks page.

  3. On the Tasks page, select the task whose source asset you want to update.
  4. On the ribbon, select Update.
  5. In the Update Asset dialog box, do the following:
    1. Next to Source Asset, upload the updated asset either by selecting Browse and locating it or by performing a drag-and-drop operation.
      The updated asset must have the same name as the original source asset.
    2. Optional: If you are using an AIS connector that supports checking in assets, select the Check in check box, and then enter a comment in the Check in Comment box.
    3. Optional: In the Asset Change Comment box, enter the reason for updating the source asset.
      This comment will be displayed in the task history.
    4. Optional: To include the changes in the project cost, select the Include in Cost check box.
    5. Select OK.
  6. Complete the current task step.

Results

The completed task is assigned the Restarted status and you can no longer work on it. WorldServer then creates a new task, identical to the previous one (but with a different task ID). Use the new task to translate and review the updated source asset.
