Uploading assets on the Classic interface

Uploading an asset means copying it from your file system to WorldServer. This can be useful if you want to update the source assets of a project that is already in progress. To upload multiple assets at the same time, place them in a .zip archive and WorldServer will extract them automatically during the upload.

Before you begin

If you want to update existing assets, make sure that the assets you upload have the same name as the existing ones. WorldServer will then replace (overwrite) the previous versions with the latest versions.

Also, the files in the .zip file that you upload must have the full AIS path included. This path must correspond to an AIS mount. In other words, your .zip file must contain a structure such as FileSystem\Test\Clients\Projects\1449_Update\Source-English-US\Text01.txt, not just the asset that you want to upload (in this example, Text01.txt).

Procedure

  1. In WorldServer, go to the Projects page.
  2. On the Projects page, select More Options > Asset Options > Upload.
  3. In the Upload Files dialog box, next to Select a file, select Browse.
  4. Locate the asset that you want to upload, and then select Open.
  5. Select Upload.
