Copying an object
This topic explains how to copy an object.
About this task
Use Copy to duplicate an object. Duplicating an object creates a new object, independent of the original. Although the new object contains the data that was in the original object, future modifications to either object do not affect the other. Also the duplicated object does not share the history (checkpoints) with the original; it is a new object with its own content, properties and attributes.
To duplicate multiple objects, you can select a range (Shift+click), or individual objects (Control+click); you can also combine these selection methods to add to, or subtract from, a range of selected objects. Multi-select works only in the list view.
