Locating reused copies of a selected object

This topic explains how to locate reused copies of an object in your configuration.

With the Repository view active, in the details list, Where_Used displays the Name Path and ID Path to all reused (linked) copies of the object that you select in the list view.
  • Name Path displays the names of the parent (container) objects, along with the name of the object.
  • ID Path displays the unique object identifiers for the parent (container) objects, along with the object's ID.
Internally, Contenta uses a numerical representation of an object’s location in the object hierarchy. Typically, this representation begins with /#1/#2, where /#1 represents the Global desktop (not seen in the Contenta Web user interface), /#2 represents the SysAdmin's desktop, and #6 represents the configuration object. The last number is the unique object identifier (objid).
