Properties of a MultiTerm connection

Use the MultiTerm Connection List dialog to specify connections to the MultiTerm database.

You can configure two types of connections, but you can select only one type at a time:

  • A connection containing a single termbase (local or remote)
  • A connection containing multiple termbases (local or remote).

Connections can be configured using multiple servers, but a connection may contain remote termbases only from a single server.

Termbase locations

Select Browse to define a connection to one or more termbases.

Forbidden values

Configure terminology check for forbidden terms by specifying which terms will be flagged as forbidden during translation:

  1. From the Term picklist fields drop-down list, select the descriptive field name that will indicate the forbidden terms for the selected termbase.
  2. Select the checkboxes corresponding to the forbidden terms.

Default termbase languages

This field lists the languages contained in the default termbase. The list is filled automatically when the connection is established with the termbase.

Options

Select Use termbase even if only base languages are equal to enable use of the current termbase in Passolo even if only the primary IDs for the source language and target language are correct.

When you disable the Use termbase even if you base languages are equal option, the terminology is retrieved only from the termbases that have the same source target language pair as the Default TB as long as it is a perfect match (Primary ID and Sublanguage ID) to the source target language pair of the string lists from Passolo.

Select Store terminology to this termbase if you want to store terms translated in Passolo to the current termbase by means of the Store Terminology command on the shortcut menu. This option can be activated for one termbase at the time and is checked when the connection is saved.

Select Search terms with less than three characters to search for terms that contain one or two characters. The terms must be searched (without fuzzy) on each termbase individually. The status text in the Term Recognition tab shows the current operation.
