Sample taxonomy for content mashup

A content mashup relies on a shared taxonomy between SDL Tridion Sites and SDL Tridion Docs. Implement the taxonomy SDL Tridion Sites by creating Categories and Keywords.

A Category serves as a general classification of content, and each Keyword defines a specific subgroup within the Category.

To help get you started, installation of DXA on Content Manager adds the following Categories and Keywords:

  • Product Family Name
    • City Bicycle
    • Red Bicycle
    • White Bicycle
  • Product Release Name
    • Model 2018
  • Content Reference Type
    • Acknowledgments
    • Deprecation List
    • Getting Started
    • Known Issues
    • Legal Notice
    • Release Notes
    • Technical Specifications
    • What's New

You can use these predefined Categories and Keywords, and can modify them to your needs. You can also create entirely new ones for a custom taxonomy.

To work with your custom taxonomy, define a custom Schema with fields that correspond to the Categories in your taxonomy. Note that the XML Name of the fields in your Schema must match exactly the XML Name of the Category.
